FIRST CUP!
Battle day! Holy Spirit awakens me early this morning!
In the Air Force on battle day, as a chaplain, I often got up early. I knew the pilot and maintainers would be up early to go over the strategy one more time before moving forward into todays battle.
I would often get up early around 4 AM and head to the dining hall to get that first cup of coffee and simply be present with our nations warriors. What an incredible blessing this time was!
We would sit there together over that hot cup of coffee and reflect on life. Our discussions rarely would reflect on the upcoming day’s events, in fact, the most precious aspect was just being present together.
What a precious gift God gives us with the ability of just being present with each other!
So with Joy, the Holy Spirit woke me up at 4 AM this morning on battle day! The Holy Spirit said to me, come Jerry let’s go get that first cup of coffee! So I sit here marveling in the presence of the Holy Spirit with that first cup of coffee, what a blessing!
I ponder of the mystery of all that has transpired over the last 27 days. Yes I ponder and wonder about what will take place over the next 6 to 7 weeks, however the true joy right now is just being present with the Holy Spirit, drinking this first hot cup of coffee, that is enough in itself!
When you awake this morning and get to your first cup of the day, I encourage you to take a deep breath, to open your heart to the Lord and come and let him talk with you. You are DEARLY loved by Jesus and HE would LOVE to have that 1st cup of coffee with you !
As I head into the battle today, I give God thanks for each of you! THANK you for your encouragement, your love, support, and prayers! I am glad to be part of such an incredible family of believers in Jesus!
As I move forward into battle day please remember what the Holy Spirit has laid on my heart as my mantra for this time in my life, THANK YOU JESUS!!!
Yes, thank you Jesus for being with me right now in the midst of this first cup of coffee!! What an awesome, incredible, joyful experience!!!
Important: PS:
For those of you who do not drink coffee, then go get that first cup of tea!
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weakness. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26 NKJV
