ARE YOU PREPARED?
My journey with brain cancer has blessed me with constant reflection and a closeness with our Savior that fills me with love and peace. My life has been a commitment to Jesus, and I pray my faith has been present in my actions and sermons. My friends, even with a lifetime of commitment, I can honestly tell you that I was not prepared for this cancer diagnosis. How will Debby and my children fair? Will I be a burden? Will my last days of illness shadow the years of joy I spent sharing Jesus with family and friends. Although my faith never wavered, panic ensued.
It’s difficult to know if you are prepared. I’m sure many in Western North Carolina anticipated damage from Hurricane Helene, but could they really imagine the savage destruction and resulting impact.
So, can you really be prepared for something that has shattering impact? There are burdens too heavy for us to carry. And in that time of great need, you must surrender everything to God.
Matthew 11:28 NIV “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
He wants to be your strength, your comfort and salvation. By surrendering to God and leaning on His strength, I’m experiencing his grace. I see His works in those around me and I raise my hand and give glory to God for this precious gift. It’s so beautiful my friends. At times I can barely contain my joy and so very badly want to share it with you.
So, I ask you. Are you prepared? Have you invited Jesus to be your savior, your help and your Guide. Join me!
