THANK YOU JESUS, GOD IS SO GOOD

For me one effect of Chemo is to wake before dawn with a horrible acidic burn and sour taste.  This time, it also tastes of ash.  A taste reminiscent of past military deployments.  Fear grips me because I lie beside my beautiful bride of 45 years, and I’m concerned I may throw up.  In this moment of panic and pain I become consumed by God’s glory. It washes over me, through me, as joy replaces despair.  Thank You Jesus, God is so good!

After I drink a cold glass of milk I hear his voice.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is one who takes refuge in Him.  Psalms 34:8 NIV

The Psalms verse comes alive erupting in my mind, and I say Thank You Jesus!!  I get so excited that Debby stirs.  I say I’m so sorry sweetie and gently pat on her back and say please go back to sleep.

I’m too excited to sleep now and want to worship my Lord for a while waiting for the sun to rise.  Oh how I wish we could gather this weekend for a huge oyster roast!!! If anyone reading this short reflection does have an oyster roast soon would you send me a group picture  AND let me see those huge, salt juiced, OYSTERS!!!

THANK YOU JESUS!!!
