VALUE OF RELATIONSHIPS!

As we happily sip on our first cup of coffee today, the Holy Spirit has moved me to ponder the mystery of the Heavenly details which HE connected us in relationships, with HIM and with others!

Therefore today I invite you into a journey of reflection on the relationships that are dear to you.

All good relationships require communication and an understanding of one another. Think about your best friend, your spouse, a coworker, or someone else you know. It’s likely that you learned about them because of the circumstances that brought you together, but you’ve only been able to truly know them as you spend time with them.

Our relationship with God is the same way. In order to know God, we must spend time with Him—talking, listening, discovering, and enjoying.

QUESTION: What relationships are dear to you right now?

PAUSE for PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I come to You giving thanks for the following relationships! May the power of the Holy Spirit fall fresh on them today!

REALIZE:

Jesus didn’t spend time in prayer as part of a spiritual to-do list because He “had” to. Talking with His Father was as natural and rhythmic as breathing. In Mark 14:36, Jesus called God by the intimate name “Abba”—the Aramaic word for “father”— and He teaches us, as God’s adopted children, to do the same.

In its truest form, prayer is meant to be an intimate, loving connection with your Heavenly Father. Whether you’re new to prayer or you’ve been faithfully praying for decades, we can all grow to know and follow God more fully through the gift of prayer.

This is why we pray: Prayer is relational, at its core. Its foundation is the love of our “Abba, Father.”

“Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.”

John 17:1-5 NKJV
