Droplets of water creating ripples on a calm surface.

NEVER HEARD

What of the soul who’s never heard,

whose ears have missed the saving word?

Whose life was lived in distant lands,

outside the reach of Gospel hands?

Is such a heart forever lost,

because they never knew the cross?

Or does the Shepherd, kind and wise,

still see them with all-knowing eyes?

The Bible speaks with voice so clear:

“Salvation’s found in Jesus here.”

Not in our effort, not our name,

but only through the Savior came.

And yet this truth is held with grace,

for God is just in every place.

He knows who sought, who turned, who prayed,

whose longing heart was never swayed.

He reaches out through star and sea,

through conscience, dreams, and mystery.

And if a soul, though never taught,

still looked for light with honest thought.

Then who are we to judge their fate?

The Judge of all will not be late.

His mercy’s wide, His justice true,

and every heart He fully knew.

But now the Gospel call is near:

“Come home, believe, the way is clear.”

For Christ has made the path to peace,

and still extends His sweet release.
