SORROW’S HOPE
This soul, cindered and silent, no longer dreams in light.
Sorrow’s embrace holds forever tight.
Innocence lost, beyond my reach.
Sorrow’s door I long to breach.
Yet torment’s hands hold firmer still;
The past I long for slips beyond my will.
Yet time flows through hope and sorrow,
Forever bending into tomorrow.
The past extends a gentle hand,
Memories echo soft and sweet through shadowed land.
A promise remembered for all who seek.
He guides with mercy, calm and bright.
A constant flame in the longest night.
My soul held close, remembered now,
Beneath His love, I learn to bow.
Not lost, not left in shadow’s keep,
But cradled gently, even in grief.
