HOW IMPORTANT ARE SIGNS?

This morning I am raising a rather interesting topic that can be a challenge for us, and one where we may not realize the importance!

QUESTION: Is it possible for us to seek signs from God, which in and of itself, is no problem at all? When does the passionate desire for a sign begin to supersede the significance of our relationship with Jesus?

YES, this is possible, and as we will see, it can occur in today’s reflection!

After the miracle of feeding the five thousand, Jesus and His disciples set off to the other side of the lake and the crowd continued to follow them. Undoubtedly, their curiosity and eagerness to learn the true identity of Jesus was growing. But instead of believing and trusting Jesus, through the evidence of what He had already done for them, they sought another sign, that gave more proof and more tangible evidence before they were willing to believe!

CAUTION: This morning we receive a WARNING Sign! One that is very worthy of our time and reflections! “In waiting for our miracles, it’s easy to be motivated by what we want and need as the “fix” to our problems. If we’re not careful, we can become so focused on what we want God to provide that we miss the gift of what is already before us!”

This is easy for me to write, because I am in the midst of looking and watching for signs of my healing! You and others, my family and I, have prayed and we believe in the power of prayer! We believe in the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and HE is at WORK, regardless of what I see! PTL!

YES, I have been looking and watching for signs where God has showed up, as I still am being cleansed by the powerful chemo and radiation treatment (doctor tells me I will experience its work for another three weeks!)

However, I am fully aware and I need to be cautious NOT to be so eager in looking for the signs that I gravitate to being unfaithful in my trust in HIM! YES, please know this is much easier for us to do than we realize!

LAST QUESTION: Are you currently looking for any signs? Are you in prayer seeking HIM to show up in an area of your life where you need help? I SURE HOPE SO! Then I am grateful to share this spiritual nugget with you today! As you look for the signs, keep your focus on Jesus first, the author and finisher of our faith. HE alone is the source of the power, of the signs showing up, as the Holy Spirit illuminates our mind, our heart, and our vision to see the signs!
